Stephanie Williamson

Steph is an experienced Design & Development Director and clinician having just completed 41 years in the NHS culminating in director roles at both Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital. She is driven by her understanding of the impact of design on patient and staff experience and co-design with stakeholders. One of her most recent projects was the Zayed Centre for Research at GOSH which has won many awards. The one she is proudest of is the Sight & Sound Centre, also at GOSH. The project brief, from children with hearing and sight impairment was for a grand house on the square and it created the opportunity to reinstate a Victorian fireplace.

She has a Masters in Leadership, a post grad qualification in Inclusive Design and she is a graduate of Ashridge College and the NHS Next Generation Director Programme.

In 2014, after several years membership Steph became a member of the Executive of Architects for Health. The intention was to ensure the organisation continued to welcome anyone with an interest and passion for healthcare design. In 2022 she was elected Co-Chair with Jaime Bishop.
