Jane Cathery

Jane Carthey is an Architect and researcher with over 30 years’ experience in health design. Jane managed the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines (AusHFG) project from 2005-2010 and was the Director of the Centre for Health Assets Australasia, UNSW from 2006-2010. In 2013-2014 she completed major parts of the design for the new Acute Services Building at Christchurch Hospital in New Zealand. She was then a Senior Clinical Planner at HDR Inc until mid-2017 in Sydney, NSW working on the design for major hospitals including the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and the new Westmead Acute Services Building. Most recently she was part of the Operational Commissioning Team at St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney. In 2011 she co-founded the Australian Health Design Council dedicated to improving the design of Australian healthcare facilities. She is currently completing a Doctorate program at QUT on the user group design process for healthcare facilities.
